Who You Are
BHG is searching for an innovative Chief Technology Officer who is an evangelist for technology-driven solutions and will attract, develop, and lead BHG’s Technology organization. The CTO will lead BHG as we improve on existing products and build new products to become one of the leaders in the Fintech space. The team will achieve these goals by delivering a world-class customer experience and product innovation. The CTO will be tasked with growing BHG’s technology teams through treating engineering as a craft, seeking individuals with unique and diverse skill sets, and encouraging each team to grow with a deep sense of humility. 
What You’ll Do
  • Lead and develop our technology team across the US. Transform the technology architecture to support the company’s growth ambitions, building scalable and durable platform solutions.  
  • Establish engineering processes for software development metrics, DevOps, quantitative techniques, and quality control. Drive work with transparency and accountability. 
  • Provide leadership as BHG’s top technology expert and peer partner on the executive management team. Collaborate closely with COO and other executive leadership. 
  • Work closely with the product leadership team to align technology strategy with internal and customer expectations. Furthermore, the CTO will work with stakeholders to develop requirements, ascertain priorities, and report progress. 
  • Manage the selection and interdependencies of programming languages, frameworks, operating systems, internet-cloud, web-application servers, databases, and mobile. 
  • Manage the software development lifecycle by collaborating across teams to evolve SDLC, including functional requirements analysis, design specification, technical code review, project planning, and implementation of applications and systems. 
  • Identify organizational gaps within the tech team to achieve company objectives. Plan, recruit, retain, and build capacity accordingly. 
  • Build exceptional recruiting and retention capabilities. 
  • Coach, mentor, and develop BHG’s technology leaders on their journey of learning and growth as inspiring and influential people managers. 
What You’ll Need
  • Previous experience leading technology organizations of over 200 employees.  
  • Organizational design, capacity planning, recruiting, and proven ability to scale teams 
  • Strategic planning (building roadmaps, difficult tradeoffs, decision frameworks) to achieve business goals aligned to BHG’s mission and current growth stage. 
  • Possess technical knowledge in scalable distributed systems; proven track record of implementing new systems and products in industry settings. 
  • Experience with cloud technologies including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform/  
  • Familiarity with modern programming languages. 
  • Agile-driven product development experience. 
  • A technical evangelist to advance BHG’s reputation as an innovative leader in the Fintech space. 
  • Understanding and experience building highly scalable, highly available systems. 
  • Experience building technology for secure environments that contain sensitive information (e.g., consumer profiles, financial information, etc.). 
  • Responsibility for product delivery and management, including development tools and technologies, release and version control, contemporary testing methodologies, and deployment management. 
  • Expert at spotting talent and passionate about growing world-class engineers on your team.
