Who You Are

BHG is seeking an experienced Cloud/DevOps professional to engineer, manage and support various
IaaS and PaaS offerings in public and private cloud environments. You are a self-starter who takes
ownership and accountability for the work you do. You love driving positive change and helping your
fellow engineers. You have a passion for learning and diving into new technologies paving the path
forward for application development teams to follow.
What You'll Do
  • You will build Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for resource provisioning as well as release/deployment automation to enable self-service deployment of infrastructure resources, container runtime platform environment (K8s), backing services, and various DevOps, engineering, data and data science applications and tooling.
  • You will provide production and sub-production environment support and guide and assist application development teams with building and deploying more resilient and “cloud-friendly” application workloads.
  • Additionally, this individual will help to drive a quality engineering experience by way of consistent, easy-to-use tooling across a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Create, manage, and troubleshoot the promotion of numerous services via pipelines to upstream environments including source control, packaging, provisioning, and deployment.
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines, including checking code quality, Unit, integration and functional tests implementation, scripting for custom tasks automation, and Environments strategy understanding
  • Help set up applications, synthetics, and infrastructure monitoring (performance metrics, OMS).
What You'll Need
  • Hands-on experience working in both Linux and Microsoft server environments.
  • Hybrid cloud experience is preferred.
  • Significant scripting, coding and automation experience using DevOps automation languages like Bash, Cron, Powershell, Python and Golang.
  • Experience working under a GitOps/GitFlow (PR-based) work/automation process.
  • Understanding of a Service Provider model.
  • 7+ years of experience in Information Technology, with 5+ years in hands-on Cloud/DevOps engineering role.
  • Proficient with common CI/CD tools like TeamCity, ArgoCD, ADO, Octopus, etc.
  • Experience setting up automation for resources provisioning.
  • Active Directory understanding including: AD authentication, Users, Groups and Roles.
  • Understanding of load balancers, DNS, virtual networks and firewalls in cloud environment including monitoring uptime, alerting, and application insights.
  • Experience implementing a service catalog or self-service portal development preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise logging. ELK, Splunk, Datadog expertise are a plus
  • Proven ability to set up application, synthetics, and infrastructure monitoring (performance
  • metrics, OMS), NewRelic is a plus
  • Understanding of the Salesforce platform is a plus
  • Experience implementing and supporting managed, backing services such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, MySQL, SQL Server, Redis, MongoDB Atlas.
  • Incident escalation and collaboration with software engineering, infrastructure, DBA and
  • business experience required
  • Proven ability and inner drive to take on new technology implementation projects, and working
  • with stakeholders to successful completion
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Candidate should be articulate, outgoing, and have a dedication to documentation and detail
  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Solid knowledge of corporate technology environments including application development and the supporting technology/network infrastructure.
  • Background in application software development is a BIG plus.
  • The DevOps Cloud Engineer should have experience working within an agile development process as well as using support ticketing systems like JIRA / JIRA Service Desk.
  • Ability to work under pressure; strong organizational skills; good judgment and decision making required
  • Able to identify and manage key risks and issues and communicate accordingly
  • Understanding/familiarity with source control, packaging, provisioning and deployment is essential
  • B.S. in computer science or equivalent experience
