Who You Are

You are a motivated Value-Added validation leader who is passionate about model risk management innovations. On top of compliance requirements, your work brings in fresh ideas to continuously enhance corporate-wide model efficiency and deliver business results. The candidate will be responsible for individual model validation as well as aggregated model risk assessment and management. The overall model efficiency and risk assessment are highly visible to senior management. This is a unique opportunity where the validator will transform technical insights, business intuition, and industry best practices into actions and advance model validation from meeting compliance requirements to a value-add function.
What You’ll Do
  • The Model Validation Manager will conduct a technical review of individual models, including formalizing questions and engagement, performing technical analyses, challenging the stakeholders for potential improvement, and preparing model validation reports.
  • The Model Validation Manager will create and maintain the model inventory, and on top of that, design and update the aggregated model risk dashboard.
  • Present both individual validation results and aggregated model risk assessment to stakeholders, senior managers, and regulators.
  • Track the industry best practices and make cost-efficient recommendations on the model road map and resource allocation, improving overall efficiency.
What You’ll Need
  • Master’s/PhD degree in Statistics, Math, Data Science, Operations Research, Engineering or related quantitative fields
  • At least 5 years of modeling and/or validation experience in the Financial Service industries
  • Modeling or validation experience with FCRA-regulated data (e.g. credit bureau attributes)
  • Deep expertise in credit scorecard and survival model methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills: written, verbal, presentation, and storytelling with data;
  • Experience communicating with regulators.
  • Experience with macroeconomic data and CECL models.
  • Proficient with writing SQL queries, R/Python programming, and ability to manipulate large datasets.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure/Databricks and analytics experience in a cloud environment are a plus.
