Who You Are
FSG is looking for a motivated, self-driven and autonomous individual with the ability and willingness to learn FSG’s financial products and services – which is the Small Business Administration’s 7(a) loan program. You will experience working in a high‐energy environment while continuing to gain extensive knowledge of the financial industry.  The work you perform is critical to our success, and will have a substantial impact on FSG’s business operations and customers.
What You'll Do
  • Underwrites annual reviews and servicing actions such as loan modifications, deferments, collateral substitutions and other post-closing requests from borrowers
  • Completes financial spreads of business and personal tax returns and financial statements, and analyzes ongoing financial condition
  • Analyzes consumer and business credit reports, status of tax and insurance payments, loan history, and other sources to determine payment habits
  • Prepares approval memos ensuring compliance with SBA Standard Operating Procedures 50 57 (“SOP”) and lender policy
  • Monitors portfolio for appropriateness of risk ratings and makes recommendations as applicable
  • Escalates unresolved issues such as payment delinquency, technical defaults, and financial deterioration
  • Ensures SBA approval or notification to SBA in accordance with the SBA Servicing Matrix
  • Assists with workouts as requested by Chief Credit Officer
  • Ensures any customer requests, updated documentation and communication notes are properly stored or recorded
  • Communicates with SBA personnel to answer loan-specific questions and to supply any additional documentation needed
  • Communicates with SBA personnel regarding general questions and requirements
  • Responsible for keeping apprised of changes to the SOP to ensure compliance with the most current requirements
  • Communicates effectively with coworkers, other employees, vendors, and SBA personnel
  • Other job duties as needed to assure team effectiveness
What You'll Need
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance or accounting
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Commercial Lending with SBA servicing experience preferred
  • Experience with spreading financial statements
  • Knowledge of consumer and business credit reports
  • Must be willing to learn and be coachable
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Works independently and as a member of a team
