Who You Are

Responsible for designing scalable, available, and performant systems to support the BHG end user community and its DevOps and IT Operations organizations. This role will be point for defining and deploying a hybrid architecture based around Azure, Microsoft M365, and tier one on-premises systems with a focus on security, systems optimization, operational efficiencies and application performance scaling. The architect will guide infrastructure teams, end user collaboration teams, and DevOps teams to deliver applications in a standard scalable fashion by leveraging Azure PaaS best practices, modern virtualization stacks, and a hybrid/SaaS focused architecture. Identify areas for improvement, rapidly prototype solutions, and aggressively fault test new infrastructure.
The qualified candidate will have experience in delivering B2B or B2C applications and systems that scale reliably across cloud and on-premises environments while supporting continuous deployment and integration pipelines. The architect will be a core leader in the definition and deployment of BHG’s on-premises and Azure based application architecture by building a seamless platform for product and development teams to deploy resilient and secure applications
What You'll Do
  • Working as part of a multi-discipline team supporting BHG at the enterprise level
  • Setting direction in the overall BHG IT ecosystems including a large .Net and Azure Kubernetes Service footprint
  • Driving standardization, cost management, and functionality for IT systems
  • Developing overall systems architecture roadmaps for end user collaboration
  • Working closely with IAM and Infosec teams on pervasive RBAC and LPU architecture
  • Actively managing and monitoring the performance of on-premises and Azure services
  • Participate in selection of technologies and products for implementation based on business needs
  • Providing high-level expert analysis on 3rd party integrations
  • eveloping and maintaining system management tools, utilities, and scripts
  • Ensuring that the environment has adequate metrics and monitoring
  • Establishing and maintaining strong DevOps focus on system automation and management
What You'll Need
  • Ten years of experience working on systems or infrastructure engineering in data center or cloud dominated infrastructures
  • Deep experience with Active Directory, M365, Azure Active Directory, and hybrid Azure AD devices
  • Experience designing and managing secure enterprise systems on AWS or Azure
  • Experience supporting multi-tenant data centers or virtualized environments including working experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerized architectures
  • Experience deploying and supporting Internet delivered applications services such as SaaS and/or large Internet transit or points of presence
  • Experience integrating on-premises systems with cloud environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge in network administration (DNS, BGP, Load Balancing)
  • Excellent system analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
  • Strong customer focus and service ownership mindset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation, Bicep, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Scrum Agile methodology or Jira
  • Large scale migration experience Data Center to Data Center and/or Data Center to Cloud
